AtĀ Moncton Cares, we understand that access to legal help is a critical part of building a just and inclusive society. That’s why we offerĀ Community Legal Aid, a support initiative forĀ newcomers, immigrants, refugees, minorities, low-income individuals, and anyone facing barriersĀ to understanding or accessing their legal rights.

All services areĀ by appointment only. When booking, you’ll need toĀ select the type of legal issueĀ (e.g., family law, immigration, tenant rights, small business, etc.) from a dropdown menu. This helps us match you with the most appropriateĀ lawyer, legal aid representative, or support staff.

TheĀ initial consultation and referrals are free, but some services may have aĀ subsidized feeĀ to support sustainability:

  • šŸ’¼ Lawyer consultationsĀ (pro bono or reduced rate):
    $20 to $50 for aĀ 30-minute session

  • šŸ“„ Ā Paralegal/document supportĀ (form filling, letters, guidance):
    $30/hour, provided by trainedĀ paralegal studentsĀ orĀ community legal support workers

These areĀ community rates, and we ensureĀ no one is turned away due to inability to pay.

    All services are offered through aĀ community-led, equity-based model.

No. We doĀ not require any proof of immigration or residency status. Our services are designed to beĀ barrier-free and inclusive.

We currently offer services inĀ English, French, Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi, Spanish, and other languages depending on volunteer availability. Please let us know yourĀ preferred languageĀ when booking.
