A Market Representing the World

Moncton Cares successfully brought together 15 different vendors, each representing diverse nationalities including India, China, Vietnam, Ecuador, Brazil, the Philippines, Egypt, and Syria. These vendors showcased a variety of cultural goods, handmade crafts, traditional foods, and unique products that provided festivalgoers with an authentic glimpse into different global traditions. The market created a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, where people could connect, learn, and celebrate multiculturalism.

Multicultural Dance Fitness Workshop

In addition to the market, Moncton Cares hosted a Multicultural Dance Fitness Workshop, offering an engaging way to showcase the diverse cultural influences in Riverview. This interactive session brought together participants of all ages to experience high-energy dance styles from around the world, including Bollywood, Latin, and Afrobeat rhythms. The workshop not only promoted health and wellness but also emphasized the beauty of different cultural expressions through movement and music.

Supporting Newcomers and Strengthening Community Bonds

As a Settlement Agency and Newcomer Support Network, Moncton Cares remains committed to providing newcomers with opportunities to integrate into the community. The Newcomer Integration Programs by Moncton Cares, along with the Multicultural Market and Dance Fitness Workshop, served as valuable platforms for newcomers to share their cultures, engage with local residents, and feel a deeper sense of belonging. Events like these not only celebrate diversity but also strengthen community bonds by fostering understanding and appreciation among residents from various backgrounds.

Looking Ahead: More Opportunities for Multicultural Engagement

The success of the Multicultural Market and Dance Fitness Workshop highlights the growing interest in cultural inclusion within the Town of Riverview. Moncton Cares’ Newcomer Support Network looks forward to continuing its efforts in promoting multiculturalism through various events and initiatives. By creating spaces where individuals from different backgrounds can come together, we continue to build a more inclusive, welcoming, and vibrant community.
