Get ready, Greater Moncton, for a grand celebration of culinary delights and cultural pride! We’re thrilled to announce that the burgeoning Filipino community in our region is coming together to celebrate Philippine Independence Day with a vibrant food festival right here in Dieppe. The highly anticipated Filipino Food Festival promises a day of rich, mouth-watering food and a joyful tribute to cultural roots.
Leading the charge for this celebration is the vibrant and passionate Pam Nacpil, a proud Filipina and a beloved figure in our local community. Pam moved from the Philippines to Canada in search of new opportunities, and her journey is a story of resilience, courage, and unyielding love for her cultural heritage.
Her love for her roots is paralleled only by her love for food, and she’s ready to share both with the Greater Moncton community. For Pam, food is a link to her past, nourishment for her present, and a legacy she’s excited to pass on to future generations.
“I believe that food is a universal language,” she says. “It’s a language of love, care, and connection. And through our Filipino Food Fiestaval, we hope to spread that love and connection with the people of Greater Moncton.”
The journey to a new country is never without its challenges, and Pam has navigated her fair share since her arrival. She’s faced the complexities of language barriers, cultural differences, and the daunting task of starting anew in unfamiliar territory. But amidst the hurdles, she’s also experienced the joys and triumphs of becoming part of a new community and witnessing it grow.
The Filipino community in Greater Moncton is steadily growing, contributing significantly to the multicultural fabric of our region. And events like the Filipino Food Fiestaval serve as a testament to the community’s strong spirit and camaraderie. It’s a momentous occasion that not only commemorates Philippine Independence but also celebrates the unity and resilience of Filipinos in Greater Moncton.
